Arkella is a dreamy complex consisted by 3 independent traditional limestone build chalets in the village of Vasa Kilaniou in the Lemesos (Limassol) district, the picturesque village of Vasa Kilaniou sits at an altitude of 750 meters on the Troodos mountain range, just 35km from Lemesos town. Its name is derived from the ancient Greek word ‘vassa’, which means ‘wooded area’ in reference to its landscapes. The village preserves its traditional limestone architecture, paved streets and old vinicultural equipment, including old wine presses and distilleries for Zivania - the strong, local spirit.

Surrounded by nature trails perfect for hiking or a relaxing walk. Get lost in the forest surroundings and sound of the river approximately 10km outside the village. Charming traditional taverns to experience the local delicious gastronomy. Visit the wineries of the village and indulge yourself to the nectar of God Dionysus. Organize the perfect wine tasting experience. Don’t forget to visit the Zivania museum, Zivania or zivana is a Cypriot pomace brandy produced from the distillation of a mixture of grape pomace and local dry wines made from Xynisteri and Mavro grapes. The name of zivania is derived from zivana which means pomace in the Greek dialect of Cyprus. Should you be lucky to visit during September – October the village celebrates its harvest with a Grape Fest, where visitors can watch the locals make traditional delicacies from grape juice, and sample them with their compliments. There is also a program of folkloric entertainment, as well as wine tasting. Travel in time through the architecture of medieval bridges, the Double Closet Bridge of Gerovrysi and byzantine chapels. The Village of Vasa has a deep spiritual identity all through the history of Christianity with landmark proofs of the ancient cave chapels of Apostle Varnavas and Apostle Timonas outside the village. Further to this statement an Ecclesiastical unique museum reveals this spiritual connection with testimonials and historical artefacts displayed.
